Chicken Wings the Sweet Sting way, baked wings with the most amazing flavour thats super simple & delicious to create from scratch & probably healthy too.

4-6 Servings

45 Mins Prep Time

Ingredients (the wings)

1.5kg chicken wings

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp dried herbs (your choice)

Ingredients (the sauce)

1/2 cup sweet sweet sting

1/3 cup soy sauce

2 Tbsp rice bran oil or olive oil (olive oil has stronger taste)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp minced garlic

1 tsp ginger powder

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (fan bake). Prepare a large baking sheet with aluminum foil and a wire resting rack for extra crispy wings, if you have one. If you don’t have a wire rack, spray the aluminum foil with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour through poultry seasoning. Add the chicken wings and coat with the flour mixture. Shake off excess.

  3. Arrange chicken on the wire rack or baking sheet, making sure to keep them apart from one another. Use two baking sheets or two batches to avoid overcrowding. Bake for 30-35 minutes, turning once after about 20 minutes, until they reach their cooked tempeture of 84°C.

  4. While the chicken is cooking, heat the sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat until just combined and heated through.

  5. Once wings are baked, transfer to a large bowl and toss with the warm Sweet Sting sauce. Serve wings with a good craft beer alongside family and friends.
